GK San Isidro Jaro is located in Barangay San Isidro Jaro in Iloilo City, Iloilo. This is a large relocation site where over 1,000 dwellings are built and land is given to the less fortunate. Transportation is not a problem because the neighborhood is accessible by any vehicle. The locals ensure their children attend school despite the challenges and financial constraints. Their top priority is education.
The Sibol School in San Isidro Jaro was established in 2012 and provides quality education for nine years to preschoolers in the GK community and neighbouring areas in the barangay. The school conducts three sessions of classes a day: two in the morning and one in the afternoon. Due to the pandemic, the school ceased operations for 3 years. As a result, residents sent their children to the DSWD Day Care Centers located within the barangay and nearby areas. However, they felt that these centres' education quality did not match what the GK Sibol School offers. The schools collaborate with the prestigious West Visayas State University in Iloilo City, which produces competent graduates from their Child and Youth Learning Development Department. Additionally, student volunteers at the Sibol School provide tutoring in reading and writing to children every week. The community and WVSU are aiming to reopen the SIBOL school to assist the children in the community with literacy and prepare them to be grade-ready by the time they enter elementary school.
The teacher and community leaders hope to reopen the school this school year and continue to provide quality education to young learners; however, due to its age, some of its structures are dilapidated, and it is unsafe for the children to use the classroom. Despite their desire to reinstate classes, the community lacks the necessary funding for its repair. The classrooms need renovations on their walls, roofing, ceilings, windows, doors, and comfort rooms. The teachers and locals in the community are seeking help to fund the SIBOL school rehabilitation.
Join us in our mission to raise funds for the rehabilitation of Sibol School in San Isidro Jaro. Together, let's make a tangible impact on the lives of the young learners in GK San Isidro Jaro and be their source of hope. Your support will inspire and empower them, instilling belief in the inherent goodness of people. Together, we possess the ability to revolutionize their lives and give them a fresh start. Let's contribute to this good cause and be part of changing their lives.
