St. Mary Child Development Center is in Barangay Villa Maria, formerly Aetas, a barangay in Porac, in the province of Pampanga. This barangay had a population of 1,120 in the 2020 census. It represented 0.80% of the total population of Porac. Farming is the local’s primary source of income.
St. Mary Child Development Center began operating in 2000, and currently, it has 57 daycare students, some of whom belong to the Aetas tribe. The school is situated at the centre of the community for easy accessibility. However, some Aetas students encountered challenges attending school due to their far-flung residences, which are in the mountains. Despite the distance from their school, the students are determined to attend their classes. They firmly believe that a good education is the key to improving their lives and lifting them out of
poverty.
The daycare centre needs more chairs and new tables for their students, as there is a shortage of seats in the classrooms. The furniture at the school, including the chairs and tables, is quite old. Parents fixed the tables during the "Brigada Eskwela." The teachers and parents are now seeking financial support to purchase new learning furniture for the young learners to replace the old ones. The new chairs and tables will help the students sit comfortably during class, enabling them to focus better on the teacher's lessons while writing. Additionally, the old chairs can be used during school programs, eliminating the need for students and parents to stand during the program.
By supporting this initiative, you will be able to help the students at St. Mary Child Development Center study better by providing them with comfortable chairs and tables. As school is the second home of the learners, a comfortable learning environment will help them grow into more adept learners. Your support will go a long way toward improving the quality of education for these young students.
Your kind-heartedness will significantly make the students at Mary Child Development Center happy. Your help could be life-changing for them, giving them hope and the opportunity to start a new beginning with their new and comfortable chairs and tables.
