GK Buenavista is in Barangay Uno, formerly known as Poblacion, a Barangay in the municipality of Buenavista; in the province of Marinduque. Twenty-Five families have lived in this community since 2008. The locale is easily accessible because it is close to both the municipality of Buenavista and the sea. The locals take an active part in the barangay and Gawad Kalinga activities, and they maintain their neighbourhood clean. Most residents work as fishermen, while others are street sweepers and construction workers.
The dark road has been a concern for the locals for almost fifteen years because the road leading to their neighbourhood is unlit. The gloomy route has caused numerous mishaps for the public over a long time. Motorcycle riders frequently fall from their automobiles during periods of severe rain due to dark, slick roads. The parents also worry for their children's safety every time they come home late from school. Residents' safety is at risk due to the dark road, particularly women who arrive home late from work and school.
Villagers yearned for a well-lit path, but the local barangay office has limited resources to erect solar-powered street lights along the road. To illuminate the road, five street solar lamps must be erected to 50 meters distance from the roadway to the settlement.
You can make the people of GK Buenavista feel safer while they walk home at night through the development of a sufficiently illuminated walkway. Solar streetlight installation is a creative and environmentally responsible solution to create bright walkways.
The proceeds of this fundraising effort will help twenty-five families of GK Buenavista in Barangay Uno to install street solar lights for safety and bright walkways. Your generosity will give them hope that one day their modest town will shine brightly at night because of the solar lamps installed on their streets.
