GK Alobo is in Barangay Alobo in the municipality of Sta. Cruz, Province of Marinduque. Twenty-two houses were given to local beneficiaries in 2008. To date, more than 22 families reside in this community. Traveling from their community is difficult because they are so distant from the town proper. Only one jeepney travels from the city to the community throughout the day. The tricycle fare is also quite expensive because of the distance. Despite being remote from the town, the community is next to a beach with white sand that is well-liked by local visitors.
The community's water source is 300 meters away from the town. It is an electrically powered water pump. It was established and began supplying water to the barrio of Alobo in the year 2000. One of the challenges faced by the locals is that when there is a power outage following a typhoon or a complete blackout, there is a water disruption or no water service until the energy returns. Second, there is also a water shortage in the summer.
When the water supply is interrupted for an extended period, the barangay organizes a water service for the people of Barangay Lobo, but despite the effort, it remains insufficient to supply all of the barangay's population. As a result, some of the residents were unable to complete certain home tasks that require water, such as washing their clothes and doing the dishes; many were even unable to take baths for days. The ability to collect water from their rooftops makes rainy days such a blessing for the people at this time.
One of the neighbourhood's constant difficulties is ensuring a steady and consistent supply of water. The locals and community leaders proposed that a pumping well be built in their hamlet to alleviate the suffering they are going through. The well will have a constant flow of water and will continue to give water to the inhabitants even when there is a power outage.
This fundraising effort aims to construct a pumping well for the residents of GK Alobo village. A dependable water system would make it easier for the locals whenever a blackout prevented their electric water pump from operating. This campaign will have a significant impact on the lives of those who benefit from your generosity.
