Ragay, Camarines Sur is a first-class municipality in the province of Camarines Sur. It has a population of 59,770 people, according to the 2020 census. Despite being a first-class municipality, this municipality has some of the poorest barangays.
The PUP Ragay Branch began offering baking classes in 2021 to the municipality of Ragay's poorest barangays. They want to impart their knowledge of baking to those who are interested in this field. They want to use it to supplement their family's income as well as to make enough money to meet their needs. To build on what they have already accomplished, they intend to continue the training this year with the cooperation of RPSI-TESDA and GK BWI for a successful and consistent approach.
This year the participants are farmers and college students. And the majority of the attendees are housewives who wish to help augment their family's income. This baking program helps them improve their skills while also supplementing their necessities.
The project's goal is to assess the participants' bread-baking abilities through TESDA, and after the training, the participant will be given a COC (Certificate of Competency). They were able to learn how to make a variety of baked goods, including cheesy ube pandesal, malunggay pandesal, banana muffins, Spanish bread, macaroons, cinnamon rolls, Chinsuko Japanese cookies, ham and cheese, and pork empanadas, among others.
Nearly everything has been prepared for the training. The venue has been offered by RPSI, a TESDA-administered school in Poblacion Ilaod, Ragay, Camarines Sur. However, they cannot begin the program without the necessary equipment and materials, which is why they are asking for financial assistance to acquire baking tools, supplies, and meals for the attendees. The training will be completed in 8 days (4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays)
Help us raise funds to make this training possible and be part of giving hope to the participants that they can change their lives by making this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity happen. Be part of creating a resilient community.
