Barangay Sampaguita is one of the barangays located in the Municipality of Vercuela where a community was built in Purok 4, Sitio Sta. Teresa. The residents within this community work in solidarity to maintain order and cleanliness through regular monthly assemblies. There are 22 families residing here.
Through several of their discussions, they have raised the concern on the lack of a properly constructed road leading to their vicinity. This is especially concerning during the rainy season since muddy roads make it very challenging for the residents to transport their products to the city. It also affects the children who travel to school on a daily basis, posing risks to their safety. The road pertained to is around 3 kilomters in length and this is their main pathway in and out of their barangay.
Due to their persistent efforts to further the imporvements in their community, they have already been able to build a Multi-Purpose facility within the community to house their monthly assemblies and enable other activities to be conducted there as well. They were able to gather materials they could use such as wood and roofing in order to complete this project. However, their need for a concretized access road continues is also urgent and they would like to raise PHP 102,708.00 in order to procure materials needed to build an access road going to their community.
